Description

The Parish Council reported that the tree was dying on 6th July 2017 and received the following reply on 29th August 2017 ` Thank you for your enquiry. I can confirm our Arboriculturist has been to site and has raised a job 50038246. This work is to clear ivy as well as all bramble and elder to ground level. This work is a medium priority and is not due until the new year. However, I do have to point out that we have a vast
backlog of work so this may taken even longer as we are having to concentrate all our resources to high and health and safety works. We are taking steps to alleviate the problems but this is not a quick fix. Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Kind regards WSCC Tree Team Dept'

The tree was again reported in May 2018 and we received the following reply on 17th May 2018 `Thank you for your enquiry regarding the replacement of a fir tree in Church Road. Unfortunately we only had funds to plant 50 trees this year which has all been allocated and your tree was not included. If you would like to donate towards replacing the tree please see the WSCC website for further information.

There has been no metion when the dead tree and roots will be removed and the Parish Council fail to see why they should now be asked to contribute £150.00 towards the cost of a replacement tree when if remedial action had been taken in August last year the established fir tree would probably still be alive.

The Parish Council have also received a request from a resident who would like to plant shrubs on the green, please can you advise varieties which would be acceptable to WSCC Highways.

21/03/2019 Pavement outside 58 Farm Close. I notice other parts of the pavement in Farm Close are marked in white for repair but not outside 58. We have lived here for 38 years without any repairs done to the pavement let alone any proper re-surfacing. Would you kindly review this pavement before sending a team to patch the other areas marked up in Farm Close.
