Near 29 Trinity Close

West Sussex - Pound Hill North & Forge Wood Ward

Description

Morning, the alleyway which runs from Trinity Close to Leighlands had 2 bollards at the Trinity Close end. Someone has knocked one of these down and today a member of your team at WSCC came to raise a request for a new bollard to be installed. I spoke with him and he advised that I raise a report, as the position of the bollards does nothing to stop motorbikes and mopeds using the footpath as a short cut. Basically the drivers, drive onto our driveway and around the bollards and then drive down the footpath. Is there any way that the 2 bollards can be repositioned further back, so that our driveway would then not be used to access the footpath and would hopefully deter the drivers of motorbikes and mopeds to stop using it as a cut through. It is very dangerous and an accident waiting to happen. Please can you look into repositioning these bollards so that they actually do what they are meant to do, otherwise they may as well be removed completely as the position they are currently is pointless.

The bollards in essence are to protect the private utility asset which cannot cope with the continual weight of a vehicle driving over it, so this will be replaced under Job: 677626 to replace the bollard in question. In fact there is no reason for vehicles to enter this area, however this is not the first time we have experienced damage to this asset. Relocating or introducing additional bollards would further obstruct for pedestrians using the twitten access, hence creating obstacles for vulnerable users such as elderly persons and parents with push chairs for example, defeating the benefits of having a safe public access. Despite the bollard being a limited deterrent, there is also a Prohibition of Cycling legal traffic order for Police enforcement. With regards to the motor cycles issue, this again is an Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) issue for Sussex Police to enforce. If you witness this negative activity you must report them direct to Sussex Police via ‘Operation Crackdown’. http://www.operationcrackdown.org/ Alternately, contact Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Jake Symonds (Pound Hill) to investigate this activity. https://www.police.uk/pu/your-area/sussex-police/pound-hill/?yourlocalpolicingteam=yourteam Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Wooded strip located between the highway and The Holt.
While undertaking tree condition assessments for Horsham District Council 2 trees affected by ash die back were identified. The larger appeared in particularly poor condition. In the event of full or partial failure this tree has the potential to strike both the highway and residential property.
I can confirm that these trees fall outside the jurisdiction of HDC.

Please advise if WSCC has used weedkiller in this tree pit (or someone/something else)? Also, please may I have a conversation with Darren the tree officer about volunteer care (e.g. watering, feeding, mulch) as this tree seems to be growing more slowly than similar trees elsewhere and locals would like to help it thrive. Many thanks.

The other side of our garden fence is Romany Road. There are lots of trees that I have been told are owned by Worthing Borough Council. They are really tall/ big trees and they are massively overgrown. They are encroaching into our garden (front and back) not only causing us to lose sunlight but also causing us to lose TV signal as some of the branches are touching our Sky dish. We pay a lot of money for Sky each month so this is a huge issue for us now. We would like the trees to be trimmed / pruned ASAP please on our side.-32 Bridgnorth Close, Worthing, BN13 3QW
