16/08/2019 Location: The Cycle paths and the pavements between the Triangle and the Tesco Express and all around that area, Burgess Hill. Issue: Overgrown with thorns, hedges and trees. Good afternoon, We have received the following email from a local resident:- "This is the 3rd email I have written, I have written to Mid Sussex district council, and to Andrew Barrett-Miles, none of whom have had the courtesy to reply. Perhaps you can point me in the right direction as to who I should write to. The Cycle paths and the pavements between the Triangle and the Tesco Express and all around that area are so overgrown with thorns, hedges and trees, that it is an accident waiting to happen. There are areas of pavement that cannot be walked upon, forcing elderly and people with young children to walk in the road. The Cycle paths are so overgrown that in some areas there is just one side of the path available and that is on corners where a nasty accident could happen. I would like to know what is being done about this, I have taken photos and I sent copies to Mr Barrett-Miles. If I do not get a reply to this email I will not hesitate to take this further and go to the local press, or perhaps social media is a better way forward." Please could you inspect and carry out the necessary works and advise us your feedback so we can respond to the customer with your comments. Kind regards, The Help point Team (BHTC)

16/08/2019 Outside number 2 Ashurst close We have been granted approval from the council planning dept to widen our drive and increase the drop curb width. Before we start work I want to ask your opinion about the cherry tree, as you can see from the attached photos, the roots extend and are lifting current pavement, curbs and verge, to the extent that anyone parking there cannot open their door. In order to complete work we will undoubtedly have to disturb roots and I would like your opinion on the effect this will have on the tree. Thank you

16/08/2019 southbound road next to Arun Independent Jaguar and Classic Car Specialist. Road surface around drain cover is breaking up and drain cover is loose and produces a cracking sound every time a vehicle drives over it. In my opinion the drain cover could fracture and collapse creating a large dangerous void with the potential of causing a serious accident.

16/08/2019 Location: Footpath runs alongside no 17 Chiltington Close, Burgess Hill (WSCC land). Issue: Brambles overhanging the path that needs cutting back. Good morning Highways, We have received the following email from a resident today:- "There are lots of brambles hanging over the path so I've noticed wheelchairs and parents with pushchairs struggling to get past. Also in the windy conditions, whole branches have fallen onto our front garden from trees on the public land. Please would it be possible to have this cleared and have one of the trees cut back (most falling debris is coming from one tree) - I'm a bit concerned about members of the public getting hurt. Many thanks" Please could you inspect and arrange the necessary works and advise us of your feedback so we can forward the comments on to the customer. Kind regards The Help Point Team (BHTC)
