26/08/2016 The new surface laid on Church Street has a problem. Whenever it gets a bit hot, the tar melts. It is not fully covered by the gravel and it is very easy to get the tar on the soles of ones shoes and transfer it on to the carpets in our homes!! The surface before was fine apart from the various potholes but this new surface is a cheap replacement. Is it possible to get something done about it asap please! FYI - WSCC Highways contractors were responsible for the new surface in Church Street. also 'The problem is best descibed as' ... Failed repair, Surface break-up, Uneven surface and Loose material.

26/08/2016 The surface on Church St, Amberley, has been a continuing problem since the grit was laid earlier in the year. The tar is exposed through traffic etc in many places, the grit gets stuck to shoes, and is an ongoing problem for dogs particularly. Tyres getting gravel in the tread make a noise. Its hell in fact for those of who live anywhere along Church Street. In the hot weather this is made considerably worse. Many of the affected residents would appreciate something done to alleviate this problem

On the right of the lane as the road bends to the right, next to the large white sign for the A23. Looks like an old repair job that's gone past its sale by date!

This has been there, even when we have had predominantly dry weather. Not sure whether it is land drainage or sewage, it does have foam on the surface, occasionally. Not good to walk through.
